Gopala

After the collapse of Harshvardhana Empire and before Gopala became a King, north India was full of independent states and small kingdoms.
They used to fight over each other for control and power, either there was no law and order. The foreigner took advantage of this situation and invade to the country.
During this period Gopala became the king of Bengal.
Gopala was the founder of the Pala Dynasty!
According to the sources, he brought law and order to his region.
Gopala had a son Dharmapala, and he descended his throne to his son.

Dharmapala

He is the one one who brought Bengal and Bihar towards his control.
He followed Buddhism, and he encouraged learning a lot. He even constructed the Vikramashila Unversity.

Devapala

The son of Dharmapala. He occupied Asam and Kalinga. He defeated many Rajput lands and took over Bihar.
He had an extraordinary love for Art. So, he constructed the Mahabodhi Temple and several more temples in his region.
After the Devapala, there was no worthy ruler to rule, which became the reason for the downfall of the Palas Dynasty.
